The G-Building in Telliskivi quarter is a historic limestone industrial structure dating back to the late 19th century, when it formed part of the Baltic Railway complex. Originally built as a forge and later expanded, the building carries layers of history that remain visible in its architecture.
The current design brings old and new together. The L-shaped volume, with its tall limestone walls, rhythmic window openings and buttresses, provides a strong historic backdrop, complemented by contemporary additions and technical upgrades. While the main volume opens up across two floors, the smaller annex highlights the qualities of early industrial architecture and enriches the spatial experience.
Today, the building is adapted for new uses with rental spaces that combine public and service areas into a contemporary working and leisure environment. The interplay of limestone and steel, the rhythm of industrial skylights, and new terraces and connections give the G-Building a renewed life while preserving its distinctive industrial character.
