Lusthoone Tractor’s House – MTJ

2020
Union of Estonian Architects, “Väike” ( small) prize nominee

The guideline from the customer was that “let’s take it easy this time…”, so it was done. The result is an annex to the Lusthoone complex, with dimensions of 6  10 m and a roof height of 7 m, which resembles the typology of a traditional hayloft. If desired, a wagon with a load of hay could enter one gate and exit the other after unloading.

The wooden frame building is covered with laminated plastic. The form is extremely simple, befitting a practical building. The wooden slats added to the exterior are a nod to the traditional wooden cladding of the complex’s main building. The result is a simple farm annex based on tradition. The tractor must be exhibited.
